Our Project that failed and now to TEAM BOUY!!!!!

When testing our container worked really well the first 4 times.  We did it the 5th time and Fluffy's container busted... :(  Fluffy did live and so did the camera so that was good!  Class was over after that so we couldn't do that much more but now that it is Monday and we only have a few days left I have asked Jessica if we could help them out and she said that was fine.  There idea seems great and I can't wait to help out with it!  I have tried to figure out what went wrong with our other one and when watching the video I saw that the container landed side-ways on the top and we forgot to pad the top and so that was most likely wrong.
When being with Jessica and her group I suggested that they add a tiny bit of padding on the inside and on the top.  Now they have a tennis ball on the outside of the top and we gave them felt to help pad the inside. Hope it works well!
Also it isn't just Jessica it is Jessica, Mary Grace, Luke, and Madeline that make up Team Bouy!!!!!!!

Pictures of what we are doing!

Look at Sara's blog which is on her Facebook!  It is under her notes!

Container into Space

We have been working on our container.  What we have decided to put a stuff dog inside a clear container because the dog will help conserve the heat for the camera because the camera will be inside of the dog with a hole in it.  Today we will try to get the finishing touches with the camera and the dog. We hope to try out the container at least today if not tomorrow.  We will also have other soft things inside of the clear thing that holds Fluffy (the stuffed animal) and it will help protect the camera and other things inside of it.  Then there will be things on the outside of the clear container but we haven't decided on that.  Maybe we will use popped bubble wrap.

Objective 6:

1.  Acid-a compound with a taste that is sour, makes blue litmus paper red, and is a H+ ion.
2.  Neutralization-a reaction that happens between a base and an acid that yields a salt and water
3.  Indicator-a thing, like litmus, that tells the presence of a certain constituent like an acid or a base.
4.  Corrosive-eating away at something (acids are this)
5.  Hydroxide ion-an anion OH that has one oxegen and one hydrogen atom

Objective 5:

1.  They are mechanical and chemical.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_are_the_two_parts_of_digestion&isLookUp=1
2.  Mechanical digestion is when you hve to do something to digest your food for yourself like chewing but chemical digestion is when a chemical called hydrochloric acid breaks down your food. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_difference_between_mechanical_digestion_and_chemical_digestion#ixzz16btmgJUm
3.  This means they can't do mechanical digestions so the chemical digestion has to work harder.
4.  mounth=7pH, stomach acid=1.5pH, small intestine=7

5.  The different enzymes work better at different pHs.

Objective 4:

1.  H+
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_ion_is_present_in_all_acidic_solutions
2.  The acids make hydrogen ions and the bases make hydroxide ions.
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_happens_when_acids_and_bases_dissolve_in_water
3.  It ends up breaking down into H+ NO3 which is an acid.
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080108190009AA0Uied
4.  The pH tells you how much H+ ions that are inside of a certain acid or base.  If the pH is lower than 7 it is an acid and if it is higher it is a base.
(remembered this from the question on objective 3)
5.  The concentration of hydrogen is pretty high when the pH is low which means the pH of 3 has more hydrogen ions than the pH of 7.
